Lone Star Cafe – Grapevine, texas

Stopped in at Lone Star Cafe for breakfast on a Saturday morning with mom and baby sister. Not busy, no wait and plenty of tables.

When we walked in, 3 employees were standing at the front desk area just watching us. It was NOT a very warm welcoming. Finally, someone said they’d be with us in a moment. We walked over and sat down. Our waitress came over and we ordered two coffees and a hot chocolate. We also asked for half and half and a sugar dispenser. Everything came but we all needed silverware. Our waitress went to another table who just got their food and needed silverware too. She also grabbed a tea from their table to top it off. She refilled it and brought it back to their table. Left and went to another table who needed a to-go box. She returned with their to-go box and went to prepare silverware. She made two and dropped those off to the table who had just gotten their food. At this point, the whip cream had steeped into the hot chocolate and the coffees were not steaming anymore. When she returned back to the table she didn’t have the silverware but was ready to take our order.

Silverware should be the first thing brought to the table.  We also shouldn’t have waited so long that our drinks were no longer hot and the whipped cream to turn into froth. We left. Headed to reliable Old West Cafe.
